Communities are created by common goals and shared experience.
Krav Maga provides both. Our training provides several common goals: self-esteem, fitness, new skill sets, and safety. Our individual members prioritize these goals in their own way, but all of them have these goals in mind. Meeting several times each week with like-minded individuals striving toward the same goals creates lasting camaraderie.
Also, the shared experence of going through Krav Maga's stress drills and exercises links people together. Shared sweat and fatigue create a strange but unmistakeable bond of friendship. There are few things as exhilarating as standing in the middle of the drill, exhausted but hearing the voices of your classmates cheering you on. And when it's your friends turn in the middle, you will cheer them on as well. Because we're all in this together.
